To extend the CARS brand into new toy lines, Mattel wanted an exploration of a BAJA Rally inspired series. This flat and graphic treatment would reflect the simplified animation style of the show that would launch soon after. After winning them over by showing a true understanding of the brand, a complete refresh of the linelook was awarded to Popgun.
