Matt David
Experienced Art Director who has worked with numerous technology and entertainment companies to refresh and launch brands.
I got my first job experience in Palo Alto working for a design shop who had Electronic Arts as their client. While working there I met my late wife and we left to form our own company Navigate9. I continued to work with EA and built a bigger roster of clients. When my late wife was diagnosed with cancer we paused the business and after 15 successful years I went to find agency work.
I am a published illustrator of children’s books for Simon and Schuster, a storyboard artist, visual designer for documentary films and advertising and branding for clients such as Subaru, Saleforce and Disney+, I’ve worked as an instructor for students at the Academy of Art and ran user acquisition for a mobile games company.
My brand experience has sharpened my craft and given me the ability to pivot with changing stakeholder input and refine ideas to read between the lines and deliver solutions that exceed expectations and allow clients to stand apart from their competition.
Working with a range of clients from cloud automation to automotive to banking and entertainment and telco has equipped me with the ability to ask the important questions, get to the heart of the matter and craft impactful design and communication that is true to the unique dna of each client. Never satisfied to rehash old solutions for the sake of speed I work with teams of writers and designers to deliver within scope and budget. I am excited by collaborating with people to push ideas beyond what I can do alone. I’ve succeeded by mentoring, empowering and setting a standard by example that has made work fun for myself and the teams I have worked with.
